550 Young Performers Impress Capacity Crowd with Keyboard and Choral Music at Cary Memorial Hall in Lexington

LEXINGTON, MA - June 20 was a very special day for 550 young music students ranging in age from 3 to 10 years old, as they dazzled the crowd at the annual All School Concert presented by Yamaha Music School (YMS) of Boston.

The talented young students performed in several keyboard ensembles and choral groups at Cary Memorial Hall in Lexington, MA. Over the course of two performances, the students presented 60 pieces representing the work of 50 different group classes. The two concerts culminated in a grand finale with all students presenting the popular song, "The Rainbow Connection." Approximately 1300 people were in attendance.

"Every year, this concert makes a deeper impression on me," said Mike Morrell, Manager, Yamaha Music Education System, Yamaha Corporation of America, who also served as the show's Master of Ceremonies. "We're pleased that in just four years, Yamaha Music School of Boston has become an important part of Boston's education community. Children that study at Yamaha Music School not only develop excellent musical ability, but they also develop a love of music that enriches their lives and helps them in every area of growth."

"The All-School Concerts enable the entire school community to come together and celebrate the accomplishments of our students," said School Director Jim Keenan. "I'd like to thank the faculty and staff for everything they've done to make this a fantastic year."

Yamaha Music School of Boston is part of an international network of Yamaha Music Schools offering innovative music lessons and classes for a wide range of students, including classes for students of all ages and skill levels. Yamaha's programs develop each student's comprehensive musical ability in an environment that inspires a love of music and a lifetime of active music participation.

The concert offered the family, friends and members of the community the opportunity to gather and experience the development and expression of musical creativity, first hand. The performances were as rich and varied as the educational programs offered at the school.

"Yamaha Music School of Boston seeks not only to unlock each student's musical ability," added Morrell, "but to empower them to find their own sound."
